• During the first 12 days of the course, you will learn the fundamental principles of microscopy using state-of-the-art digital software (Histologi@ in the cloud/Biolucida) and develop an understanding of the fascinating interactions at the cellular level. 2nd semester; seminars and lectures

Explore the fascinating world of neuroanatomy! In the seminar "Neuroanatomy" of Prof. Kiebler in the 2nd semester (Chair III of Anatomy / Cell Biology) you can expect a unique approach to this exciting subject.

The main focus of the seminar is on spectacular live dissections that you perform independently. These hands-on experiences allow you to experience the complex structures and functions of the nervous system firsthand and develop a solid understanding of neuroanatomy. The seminar offers a unique opportunity to combine theory and practice and to discover the fascinating interrelationships of the nervous system by yourself.

4th semester; seminar

OrganCentred Seminar (OZS) - linking anatomy, physiology and biochemistry

At the end of the 4th pre-clinical semester, students can look forward to a special highlight: the OrganCentred Seminar (OZS). Here, four organ-related topics are examined from the perspectives of the three core subjects of anatomy, physiology and biochemistry.

Our anatomical contribution lays the foundation for understanding the structures, which are embedded in the functional and biochemical context. The aim of the seminar is to help students to link the content of these subjects and to develop a holistic understanding of the complex relationships in the human body.

This interdisciplinary seminar not only creates subject-specific links, but also prepares students optimally for the clinical semesters.

1st and 2nd semester (winter semester) ; practical course and lectures

In the "Neuroanatomy" practical course offered by Prof Kiebler's department (Department III of Anatomy/Cell Biology), dental students gain an in-depth insight into the fascinating world of the nervous system.

During the practical course, theoretical knowledge is supplemented by practical exercises to provide a basic understanding of neuroanatomical structures and relationships. The highlight of the practical training is the final day of the course, on which you will take part in spectacular live preparations. These allow you to experience the complex interactions of the nervous system at first hand and apply your knowledge in a realistic context.

This practical course provides you with an ideal basis for confidently and competently mastering the neuroanatomical aspects of dentistry. We look forward to guiding you through this exciting and educational experience!
